I don't expect Marc Jacobs to design clothes that walk off the runway and into my closet, what I expect are clothes that are freakin cool. Once again, Jacobs delivered. This spring's collection was geisha inspired with a ton of layers and amazing ruffles. The ruffles were everywhere, in a good way. Jacobs also rethought the way we layer- satin bras over sweaters, tiny tube tops over a suit. It was different, it was interesting and it was gorgeous.

Tracy Reese's collection was full of some of the cutest dang party dresses I have seen in a long time. While the critics have been lamenting a season full of playful dresses, I love it. Reese's dresses were happy, uplifting and what women would love to wear. I am loooooving the animal print dress and the blush with the black overlay. If I lived a life that required numerous cocktail dresses, this collection would be on my list.

Thakoon Panichgul is known for his awesome prints and he lived up to that reputation for spring. However my favorite looks were the ones that combined solids and prints. Case in point: the purpley dress above. I think it is incredibly smart and different with beautiful draping.

The thing I couldn't get out of my head while looking at Zac Posen's latest collection was the theme song to The Jetsons. For some reason that second dress and some of the other looks just reminded me so much of that cartoon from my youth- futuristic, monochromatic tights, tight hair. Posen is taking neons into spring, weaving them and making raincoats out of them. It was a bright, whimisical collection for spring.

When I see pictures of Donna Karan she always looks as if she just took some fabric and swathed herself in it. Her collection had this same feel for spring, but with a refined edge. These clothes just look effortless and easy, while remaining sophisticated and polished. Karan's color palette was pretty tame except for a bright tomato red that grabbed your attention as Karlie came down the runway.

Critics have said that Carolina Herrera's latest collection was overdone and heavy-handed. I must say that while it wasn't a light and airy collection, it was still incredibly beautiful. Herrera's usual elegance was present and the clothes were incredibly crafted. There were great original details and some really gorgeous color- ie that amazing purple.

Dreamy. J. Mendel's clothes are just dreamy and beautiful. They are so feminine and soft that you just want to live in them. I love the bold yellow-green dress and its interesting touches. And that fur. My gosh that fur.

Jil Sander seems to have come a little late to the party. Her collection was super 80s inspired. The skirts were crazy short- so much that the models had to pull at them while walking. While I appreciate the amazing work on a couple of the dresses (the cutouts on that black and purple number are awesome), I think the collection as a whole is not incredibly wearable. Wearability isn't as much of a problem when you are being innovative and bringing new ideas, but when you are continuing a trend, it needs to be in a way that people can wear.
